Men's basketball

Heading into the holiday break, the SAIT Trojans men's basketball team left no doubt as to why they are ranked No. 1 in the country by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

The Trojans hosted the Briercrest College Clippers for a pair of home games, and went off, recording margins of victory of both 39 and 45 points in contests played less than 24 hours apart.

Friday night's 112-73 victory was the second consecutive 39-point victory for the Trojans, who achieved the feat the weekend previous against Olds College.

On Saturday afternoon, the Trojans got out to a 20-0 lead in the opening quarter as they wrapped up their first semester of play with a 104-59 victory.
