Paul C. Whitelaw - Cross-Country Running

Paul attended SAIT in 1974 and 1975 and participated on the Cross Country Track team, finishing second as an individual in the men's event. Paul also came back to coach the Cross Country Track Team in 1975, where he had continued to coach for another 15 years and retired from coaching in 1990.

During this time, his team had come in 1st place 4 times and finished in the top 3 medal standings 9 of the 15 years he coached the team. He had one individual finish in the top 5 for individual runners each of the year's he coach the Cross Country Track Team.

In addition to his individual running for SAIT Athletics and 15 years coaching while holding an off-campus job, he still found time for other activities, such as:

  • He was on the organizing committee which started the SAIT Alumni Association
  • He was the founding member of the Trojan Athletic Foundation (TAF) as the Vice-President of the Trojan Athletic Foundation.
